This work is investigated the effect of temperature on the spur gear box. Different parameters are studied to show the effect of temperature on the spur gear. Operating spur gear box without lubrication (Dry) with no load under different speed 3000, 6000 and 9000 rpm, the results are appeared that when we increased the speed the temperature increased. In the test rig we used up jet only, down jet only and up and down jet lubrication in the orthogonal position of two spur gears in mesh to study the effect of temperature of spur gearbox with lubrication under no load, the results are indicated that the using full lubrication up and down jet, the temperature is less than using up jet only and down jet only. When we used up jet lubrication only is less than using down jet lubrication only. The interpretation of decreasing the temperatures when up jet lubrication only regardless to using down jet lubrication only that when we measured the temperature in the points close to up jet only: the reason that cooling time is less than when using down jet only. For more clear to investigate the effect of temperature on the two spur gears in mesh of gear box; research compared between no load and load to declare the effects on the spur gear temperatures. The work appeared that the wear failure is the result for spur gears temperature increased. Results of this work agreed with [1] that the speed of gears increased, the temperature increased. Results close to Thyla et al [2] indicated that temperature of pitch point is higher than the other points on the face width.
