Network packets in simulation systems record the simulation data and flow information, which supply key source data to support the effectiveness evaluation of the systems, nevertheless, for now there is no effective, generic analysis tool accustomed to varied formats of network packets. According to the requirement analysis of network packets parsing within a simulation system, this paper proposes a meta-model based generic technique towards network packets parsing, and puts forward the implementation framework of corresponding software. The software is repeatedly applied to multiple simulation exercises successfully. It is proved to be valid and efficient for supporting the effectiveness evaluation of the system.
