Combining the on-line monitoring technology for power machinery equipment in the past with microelectronics technique that develops rapidly at present, this paper puts forward a design of a kind of FPGA chip on system level used for online monitoring. Linked with a small amount of peripheral devices, FPGA chip can on-line monitor the temperature characteristic, insulation characteristic and mechanical characteristic of power machinery equipments. It also can communicate with computers. Compared with the on-line monitoring technology used MCU (Micro programmed Control Unit) in the past, this chip has advantages of high reliability, high generality and low price.
