Wireless networks have been proposed for many location-dependent services and applications. Traditional location determination systems require a physical device attached to the person who is tracked. Meanwhile, many of this traditional method do not perform well in complicated realistic conditions. In this paper, we originally introduce DUCL (device-free and universal crowd localization) in wireless sensor network (WSN), with collecting tree protocol. In each part of target scene, after recording the fluctuation values of link quality indicator (LQI) and obstructed links in data set, we capture the location and distribution of crowd with Chameleon cluster algorithm. Results from comparative trial and large scale simulation show better performance of DUCL.
