Web spoofing is a serious problem involving fraudulent e-mail and web sites that trick unsuspecting users into revealing private information. Phishing has increased enormously over the last years and is a serious threat to global security and economy. There are a number of possible countermeasures to phishing. These range from communication-oriented approaches like authentication protocols over blacklisting to content-based filtering approaches. Each month, more attacks are launched with the aim of making web users believe that they are communicating with a trusted entity for the purpose of stealing account information, logon credentials, and identity information in general. We hereby discuss the aspects of web spoofing and its unique solution: ‘Panch1¼Vaktram’ which is a web browser with a spoof guard technology that provides a security guard to the users working online.
