Risk is a part of life in everything we do. No activity is free of risk but we do not give in to a life of inaction just because there is risk in everything we do. In a similar fashion, software projects are prone to risks at every stage. There is a risk of market demand shrinking due to general economic conditions, risk of losing key resources during the project, risk of a natural calamity, etc.
