Object-oriented application frameworks are widely used in order to increase efficiency and reliability in object-oriented software development. Frameworks often expose methods to set up their internal state by application specific code. We put a focus on side effects in frameworks caused by miss-use of such setup methods. In general, side effect is a kind of defect which is difficult to understand and resolve.
