Guizhou Province develops the most typical karst landscape in the world. At the same time, it is a province of multiple nationalities. Owing to this special natural and human environment, there are many cities with prominent areal features and minority buildings with thick cultural details. Based on Guizhou arial locations and settlement modalities, this study sums up the settlement textures and building antetypes and generalizes the historical traditions of minority nationalities. The study sets up a new concept of city designs based on building typology and city morphology. Through practical examples, it explains “The city design with Guizhou karst areal locations” and indicates the applicable prospect of continuous city development in Guizhou karst zone.
