30 Research on the Function and Contemporary Value of Glass Curtain Wall for Green Building

Nowadays, the environmental deterioration resulting from industrial development has become a serious problem that impact human’s sustainable development. Glass curtain wall as a main building material has produced significant breakthrough in the material structure and relative material technologies along with the needs in current era. This also relieved the environmental crisis and expanded its application. This thesis studies the functionalities of glass curtain wall from four aspects including indoor temperature, ventilation effect, sound insulation and safety, and demonstrates the value of glass curtain wall in the perspectives of the building energy conservation, material recycling and the human-oriented technical idea for the contemporary society.
