In this paper, having conducted a thorough literature review, as well as having studied a large number of books, we practically synthesized a theory that by the development of the time, optimization of design and sustainable development shall be the guiding ideology of garden and landscape construction. Nowadays garden is not simply being qualified as a green landscape, but also transforming into an important ecological element of people’s lives. On the premise of being appropriate for China’s economic development, together with studying of energy and new technology to improve the ecological environment, as well as establishing of specific requirements, the mechanism of “man and nature coexist in harmony” is becoming the key to achieving this theory.
