UL7 protein encodes by UL7 gene of duck plague virus (DPV). Through predicting and analyzing the structure and physicochemical properties of DPV UL7 protein by using some software and online tools to gain more information of DPV UL7 protein. The phylogenetic tree shows that DPV UL7 protein is close evolutionary relationship with the genus Mardivirus. The online analysis of the physicochemical properties demonstrates that the protein has twelve potential phosphorylation sites and one potential N-linked glycosylation sites when the threshold of prediction score is above 0.5 and without both the signal peptide and the transmembrance region. In addition, the protein has mainly five hydrophobic amine acid districts and subcellular localization largely locates at cytoplasmic with 65.2%. The secondary structure results revealed that alpha helix dominated among secondary structure elements followed by random coils and extended strand for all sequences. In addition, UL7 gene of DPV may encode a tegument protein while it is need more experimental evidence to prove it. All the data will help a basis for further functional study of the DPV UL7 protein.
