The n-tiles puzzles are important problems in the artificial intelligence domain. This paper presents a novel search algorithm for solving 15-tiles puzzles using the mechanism of the goal reverse that the goal state is exploited backward corresponding to the initial state forward in the searching processes. Results of empirical experiment using different puzzles with different difficult levels have shown that the method proposed in this paper performs highly competitive in terms of solution quality.
