In the applications of copyright protection for vector geographic data using digital watermarking technology, the data splicing attack, because too many data points without watermark, could result in watermark detection difficult. For this issue, the paper proposed a fragile watermarking algorithm by using tamper positioning character of fragile watermarking to assist with robust watermarking algorithm. Then took the combining algorithm to protect the copyright of vector geographic data. The fragile watermarking algorithm which ensured data accuracy was for every single data point at the same time. Through achieving the tampering of data points for each position, the data points without watermark were excluded. Then took the robust watermarking algorithm for small amount of data to achieve copyright protection for vector geographic data. The experimental results showed that the algorithm could protect the copyright of vector geographic data without the interference of the non-watermark data points in splicing attack.
