This paper proposes an improved method towards the defects in Apriori algorithm that needs to scan transaction database time after time and create largeness candidate sets. The improved method reduces the times of scanning database on the basis of compressing the amount of candidate sets. By testing on a traffic accident data, it proved that, on the basis of accuracy, the execution efficiency of the improved method is far better than the Apriori algorithm.
