This paper concentrates on measurements of QoS in VoIP environments. It starts with a presentation of QoS measurement models in general, and then concentrates on methods used for the VoIP service. Following that, it describes a practically based concept for an MMS. It then introduces a new tool that generates load on the second ISO-OSI layer. It presents and interprets a representative selection of results that are illustrative of a VoIP environment. The paper concludes with a summary and an outlook on further research.
