Virtual world is a 3D social environment and a new educational tool. It enables kids to create their own stories or games. Online gaming in a virtual learning environment has great potential in motivating students in learning Sciences. This new technology enables the teacher to present the scientific knowledge in a way more attractive to students than traditional textbooks. This paper stresses on the importance of developing and implementing a platform suitable for education in virtual world especially for kids. It is an interactive multiuser educational system. It investigates the scientific learning process with emphasis on the pollution and environmental issues especially black cloud simulation and its impact on the environment. Our system achieves the enjoyable factor in the learning process. Purpose of this study is to explore how the three dimensional virtual learning environment, Active Worlds, could engage students in learning the scientific concept of the chemical effects on air.
