More than a digital tool, CAAD has been expanded to a series of studies in architectural digitalization, construction information management being one of them. Against the background of the internet world, digital information is instilled with energy, making the construction information more widely spread and causing more messes and redundancies. In addition, vegetal architecture has inevitably become the goal of modern architectural design, while effective designing information is in short supply. Vegetal architecture calls for evidence amongst large amounts of information, and evidence-based design mainly studies the attainment of best evidence. Studies show that evidence based architectural design lies between digital tool and vegetal goal, and that digital technology makes evidence-based design possible and vegetal architecture makes evidence-based design needed. Evidence-based design is a basic concept in architectural design in the information age.
