In the 2.5D forward and inverse modeling of CSEM, inverse Fourier transform is unavoidable, and whether the results are right or wrong decided by the wave-number. In order to research the key points, we not only calculate the wave- number domain primary field of $H−Hz$ wide field electromagnetic method, but also analyze the corresponding features. The conclusions show us that, both in space domain and in wave-number domain, the characteristics of magnetic curves are alike. Besides, the large wave-numbers lead to very smaller and oscillating magnetic value. These only can consume the time, but no use for improving the precision of the results. A group wave-numbers are selected which is reasonable. Except above consequences, Chave's algorithm is superior to Anderson's algorithm.
