176 Traffic Model for Wireless Mesh Networks Based on Stochastic Network Calculus

With development of wireless mesh networks, service performance becomes a concerned topic for researchers and users. In this paper, we mainly focus on traffic model in wireless mesh networks. Based on popular stochastic network calculus, the paper proposes a traffic model with Fractional Brownian Motion arrival flows. We apply Central Limit Theorem to construct a stochastic arrival curve for aggregation flows and single flow in terms of self-similarity of flows in wireless mesh networks. The numerical results show that the traffic model can express practical characteristic of flows. It plays important theoretical role for high quality and reliability service guarantee in wireless mesh networks.
