During the decarburization process of smelting steel and iron, not only carbon content is difficult to be detected on-line, but also there are many uncertain factors, so end-point control is still difficult to be accurately determined in time. S7-300 PLC is used as controller in predictive control system. FB (Function Block) of non-equidistance GOM is created to predict carbon content in smelting, and the trend curve of carbon content is shown on configuration. Experiment results show that the relative error is at — 6.4% ∕ 3.06%. Carbon content can be predicted well in real time with the high fitting precision and high prediction precision.
