In this paper, the constrained rotated Q1 nonconforming finite element method is studied on the nonlinear viscoelastic wave equation. By use of average-valued technique and special properties of the element, the superclose property for the nonlinear equation in broken H1 norm is derived without Ritz projection, which is the same as for the linear situation.
