There are many problems on the process of materials database development. Most of the database could not fulfill the requests of research. Data integration is a technology which is the key solution of the problems. The paper first analyses the main problem of the current material database in China, and then compares the characteristics of data warehouse with materials data analysis, and provides a new idea of data warehouse technology for research on materials data analysis.
