The random packet losses due to high bit error rate (BER) in wireless environment that result in degraded the performance of TCP. Meanwhile, we found that the packet losses rate is closely related with the segment size and the bit error rate. In this paper, we researched the impact of segment size on TCP performance in wireless environment. The simulation result shows that the scheme of adjusting segment size according to the current channel condition is feasible, and the performance of TCP can be improved actually
