In LTE systems, PRACH is used for non-synchronized random access. In this paper, an MIMO system structure for PRACH signal transmitting and detecting in base-band is presented. The scheme is suitable for FPGA-based system implementation. A simple and efficient approach is proposed for threshold setting in non-coherent multiple receive antenna PRACH detection. Multiple degree of freedom Chi-square distribution properties of the additive whiten Gaussion noises is used. Simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
