Defining a collision between two or more objects in virtual environments involves two major problems which are the accuracy of the detection and the speed of the collision to occur. However, one of the interesting methods that are capable to increase the accuracy of detection area is by using hierarchical approach. In this paper, we introduce an improvement of hierarchical approach called Bounding-Volume Hierarchies. By dividing the Bounding-Volume (BV) using Spatial Object Median splitting rules (SOMS), we discovered that the BVH is more likely to increase its accuracy when intersection occurs. The splitting method that we introduced to enhance the capability of object intersection is practically faster than previous BVH method using Axis-Aligned Bounding-Box (AABB) BV.
