It has been paid more attention that making use of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) may lead to the problem of industrial security by FDI in recent years, particularly for the Equipment Manufacturing Industry (EMI) located important strategic position in the economy. This paper utilizes the relevant statistical data from 1998 to 2007, and adopts four indicators, namely market control rate, the stock control rate, the technology control rate of the FDI and the rate of important enterprises controlled by FDI, to investigate the industrial controlling security of China's EMI from the perspective of industrial controlling power. The result shows FDI has a great bearing on the industrial controlling power of EMI, on basis of which policies and suggestions to strengthen the industrial controlling power of domestic investment are presented in this paper.
