The weights of specific technologies are obtained by using analytic hierarchy process and quality function development, which can partition the customer's aggregate demand for the advanced civil aero-engine layer by layer until specific technologies, the risk level of specific technologies are quantified according to their technology readiness levels. The overall technical risk of the aero-engine can be calculated by integrated analysis of weights and risk of specific technologies. This method can assess the aero-engine as well as its component system. Take the fan component of an under-researched turbofan-engine for example, the software incorporate the method yields the quantitative result.
