Information system of highway natural zoning is a platform for data storage, data calculations and results inquiry. Optimization methods on information system of highway natural zoning in China are enumerated in the paper. On the basis of the analysis on the structure of information system for highway natural zoning, the optimizations of the system data and system performance are analyzed. By choosing the recovery model of “Simple” and “bulk-logged”, using the API function, the speed of data loading and bulk data copying is significantly improved. By the introduction of DECODE function, SQL statement is optimized. Then, the temporary table is established to optimize the query cache. The contribution of this study is to reduce the system response time and improve the system accuracy, in particular to provide a systematic, integrated spatial decision support platform to raise the automation and quantification of highway natural zoning in China.
