The Working principle of VAWT (vertical axis wind turbine) and calculation method of wind energy utilization efficiency were interpreted. Partial integration method was used to analyze and calculate the relationship between the power of three-leaf structural VAWT and the size of the blades structure, which provides an effective method of fundamental analysis for its structural design. To resolve the issues of wind tracing and constant rotation speed control, an embedded control system based on PIC16F877A MCU was designed. Using angle sensors, temperature sensors, speed sensors, wind speed sensors and battery power monitoring system and so forth, achieves the global control for this VAWT.
