Metallic objects, placed in the vicinity of an Antenna, often challenge antenna's radiation performance. In this paper, the proximity effect of such metallic objects lying in close to PCB thus affecting the Antenna's Impedance, Directive gain, radiation efficiency, feed matching and polarization purity was studied. The study has been carried out in two ways. Initially, a 1 mm thick Metallic plate was placed beneath the antenna and subsequently, a cubical metallic object was mounted in the same plane of the antenna. The main parameters varied are the metallic plate size, distance from the antenna, metallic objects size and corresponding distance.. The Paper approximately helps in the optimization of the distance of the metallic objects from the antenna depending upon antenna's achievable radiation characteristics.
