1 Evaluation of Processors for High Performance Computing Embedded Systems

Embedded systems are small size and committed to special purpose with real-time computing. They use standalone and may dedicated be part of large general purpose applications. Microprocessors are multipurpose, programmable electronic devices that use in everything from the smallest embedded systems and handheld devices to the largest mainframe computers. Since the embedded systems perform sensitive tasks, the performance of microprocessors highly impact the significance of systems. In this paper, we evaluate and compare multiple processors acquired from well known manufacturers and extract the quality of devices in terms of power consumption, CPU utilization and peripheral performance. Experimental results based on modern benchmark are provided and discussed to give the better idea to users for suitable products for their real-time systems.
