Since web-based CALL was implemented in China, researchers have found it successfully solved the chronic problems that college English teaching has had in China. It is believed that web-based CALL can solve the problems in Chinese college English teaching, to a certain degree, by providing students with a computer-assisted learning environment which allows students a higher achievement with fewer classroom teaching hours. The major advantage for using web-based CALL is that the computerized learning environment enables students to enhance their autonomy by providing them with more learning opportunities and ensuring student-centered instruction.
