In this paper, the anti-pounding dampers were installed in a high-pier bridge's pounding locations (expansion joints) in longitudinal and transverse directions, under multi-excitation considering the traveling wave effect, the comparative analysis of the seismic response of the high-pier bridge between with and without the anti-collision damper which is set on pounding location were carried out. The anti-collision damper can be effective in preventing collisions between deck beams and between deck beam and block, and the displacements of the bridge piers is limited, internal forces of piers' bottoms greatly reduced, then to reduce the damage to piers, which will help to...
