We study the relationship between magnetic properties and nanostructures of CoxAu11Âx prepared via pulsed-current electrodeposition. The saturation magnetization and particle size were examined against deposition current density after they were annealed at 573 K for 1 hour. We found that the grain sizes of the CoAu nanostructures are highly influenced by the current density. Furthermore, low temperature magnetization measurements suggest that a decrease in saturation magnetization of the annealed nanostructures correlates with the Co particle size and its distribution in the Au matrix.
