Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has astronomical (Peak to Average Power Ratio) PAPR values. Therefore Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Accesses (SCFDMA), which has a very low PAPR, has started to replace the OFDM. This paper focuses on achieving on efficient synchronization and channel estimation of SCFDMA system and showing that SCFDMA signal has low PAPR value when compared to OFDM signal.
