This paper deals with the development of water leakage detection system which is applied to the underwater housing under hydrostatic testing using hyperbaric chamber which can produce a high pressure condition artificially. This system can notice an existence of water leakage inside the underwater housing and if leakage occurs, it can notify this state to the operator. Fist in this paper, system configuration and sensing mechanism of total system are presented. And as a first experiment to find out an effective material of leakage sensing electrode, various kinds of materials (aluminum, copper and conductive fabric) are compared at the view point of sensitivity. Also, to find out the relation between electrode's gap and sensitivity, the experiment is performed and the optimal size of electrode is derived. Though these experiments, small leakage droplet up to 0.1ml can be detected by the leakage sensing electrode having an optimal size gap. And in reference to vibration measurement experiment, strain gage and vibration motor is applied in simulated test condition and measured data is presented. Now in this research, calibration of vibration condition is preformed to increase a sensitivity of vibration transmission. And final integration step of embedded system is ongoing.
