We have reported a high sensitive UV detector using ZnO nanowires prepared on inter-digital gold electrode. The aligned ZnO nanowires have been grown on glass substrates using the hydrothermal method. Before growing the nanowires, the inter-digital gold electrode has been deposited on the sample with a DCSputtering s0ystem. The I–V characteristic of the device shows a significant rise in the current for low intensity of UV radiation evidencing the high sensitivity of reported structure. The samples have been analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to investigate their structure and geometry.
