SSRT, LCF with and without micronotches and FCGR tests in air and under hydrogen precharged conditions were carried out on an API X65 steel in Q&T conditions. Comparison of air and hydrogen precharged specimens showed that YS and UTS were not affected with only a small decrease on total elongation. However, LCF on smooth specimens and FCGR tests showed significant effect of hydrogen, respectively reducing number of cycles to failure and accelerating FCGR. On the contrary, LCF tests on micronotched specimens showed no effect of hydrogen on FCGR, probably due to the formation of fisheye far from artificial notch. Morphology of fracture surfaces on LCF specimens with largest strain amplitudes revealed multiple fisheyes features originating from small nonmetallic inclusions.
