An agent-based contractual workflow paradigm is described for E-business. The various types of task patterns that arise in E-business (commerce, control and manufacturing, e.g. Purchasing, manufacturing and negotiation) require a “what if” programming approach consisting of intention and actions for trial-error design, before an actual commitment is made.
