The distribution of fastener loads acting at the several rows of multiple row attachment, butt and lap joints and doublers can be used to estimate SCFs in these joints. Chapter 17.1 outlines a general analytical approach. Chapter 17.2 describes a semi-analytical procedure and 1-dimesional, 2-springs models for estimating the fastener load distribution of joints with 3-dimensional deformation. Chapter 17.3 describes a superposition method which, together with the fastener load distribution and the numerical result for the SCF of single-row joints, provides estimates of the SCFs in multiple row joints. The reliability of the SCF predictions is examined in Chapter 17.4.
