This paper describes how material testing combined with WUFI 2D computer-analysis models might be used to predict the freeze-thaw durability of limestone dimension stone. The focus of this paper is to establish a methodology that can be used to predict the durability of a specific stone in various construction conditions and environments. The paper explores the use of the method on Indiana limestone, which is a stone that has performed well over a long history of use in severe environments. The future goal is to use the methodology as a technique that is more efficient than currently available methods of predicting the in-service freeze-thaw durability of a specific dimension stone for a specific construction in a specific environment.
