Experience of actual fire occurrences in buildings with some exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS) has shown varied performance. There has been considerable work done in laboratory and large-scale fire tests to evaluate the fire risk from an EIFS cladding, and this paper will draw together these fire tests and the performance reported of fire evaluations from building fires.
