Some Department of Defense (DOD) specifications for rubber products contain requirements for wear testing. The wear testing aspects of two of these specifications and a friction test included in one of them will be reviewed. In addition, at least one ASTM standard for rubber wear testing has DOD acceptance. It and another ASTM standard that is closely related will be reviewed.
