The Bureau of Reclamation constructed a special test section of 27-inch (675-mm) diameter PVC (polyvinyl chloride) pipe in November 1987 near Elba, Nebraska. Measurements were made of pipe deflections, pipe invert elevations, soil properties, and in-place unit weights. Pipe deflections will be continually monitored for several years. This paper describes the installation and pipe deflection measurements through the 2-year reading.
