The results from fatigue tests on large-scale, hollow-threaded connections are presented. The fatigue crack depths and profiles were monitored during the tests using the alternating-current (a-c) field measurement technique. The crack growth data have been used to validate the weight function approach used in conjunction with a through-thickness stress distribution to calculate suitable stress-intensity factors for threaded connections.
