Certain large emergency power systems, powered by diesel engines, impose long storage periods on the fuel. The paper describes a detailed quality control program for such fuel systems, including fuel selection, clean-up hardware, and fuel testing before and after storage. Fuel specifications and acceptance limits and the reasons for the limits are presented.
