The efficacy of a combination sonic-ultrasonic device as a bird repeller was tested by comparing the activity, feeding time, and food consumption of common native birds at treated and control sites baited with sunflower seeds. The effect of the device on bird behavior at an unbaited site was also measured. Tests to date indicate that the device has no significant effect on the species studied. A method for testing the efficacy of repelling devices is proposed.
