The effect of droplet density and toxicant concentrations on the mortality and behavior of two-spotted spider mites was evaluated in a laboratory study. Residues of fenvalerate and cyhexatin under certain droplet densities resulted in an increase in oviposition. A formulation of permethrin (encapsulated) was found to have the same toxicity as the standard formulation to both apple aphid and Japanese beetle. However, the encapsulated formulation resulted in a loss of hyperactivity and repellancy shown by the standard formulation of permethrin.
