This paper relates an attempt to evaluate the interlaminar stresses that are generated within the interface between two layers near the free edge of angle-ply and cross-ply laminates. An approximate model based on simple polynomial formulations is proposed. The results obtained with this model are compared with numerical results available in the literature and with values obtained by an experimental program conducted on angle-ply glass/epoxy laminates.
