One of the vital approachs to quantifying the performance of materials over time is to use performance concept. This paper provides a methodology for evaluating durability test methods for building materials, components, and elements according to performance evaluation criteria. It discusses various sources of data—field survey, outdoor exposure and accelerated aging test—and includes 5-year application program for durability assessment of industrialized dwellings.
